Krista Shiner ~ Owner & Artist

“Painting, Drawing, sculpture, music and other forms of art have always been an outlet for keeping me grounded and allowing my imagination to run wild in whichever form suits the vision. The problem solving and science involved has always excited me and still does. Having the ability to create and transform space gives me great satisfaction and I hope to have the same success with my Fine Art. Since early childhood the arts have been a natural need and instinct in my life. I have dabbled in the decorative arts years before it being my main profession. I began in January of 2001 and have been blessed with three wonderful mentors who have contributed to my knowledge of decorative painting, both professionally and artistically. In the last five and a half + years I have had the opportunity to work with reputable artists residentially and commercially in the Denver area while fulfilling my passion for painting. Having an educational and experiential background in Spanish, I am striving to have it as an integral part of my business. I see a need in creating increased communication with the Spanish speaking communities in Colorado, especially in the painting, decorating and construction industry.

The comparison in my services, I believe, lies partially in my continued education of Decorative Painting and Faux Finishing. Intensive classes, continued experimentation and reading materials specializing in this ancient form of art for up-to-date, new and exciting products and finishes in the industry have enabled my company to offer professional grade products and services and deliver a valuable home investment that suits the clients lifestyle. Most recently, I have been professionally trained in Decorative Concrete staining and overlay, an area I am excited to see as a forefront for my business.

As the owner and main artist of Diseño ~ Decorative Concrete & Specialty Paint Finishes, I reflect on each client’s personality and interests in order to conceptualize their ideal environment that is suitable to their taste and furnishings. My passion and pride can be seen and felt in craftsmanship and equally in client relations.
